Antique 18ct yellow gold vinaigrette pendant on a silver gilt collar with star motifs in the center a each circle. The front of the vinaigrette features a flower motif with 5 cabochon garnets and a center diamond with an impressive decorative grille framed by an engraved snake.

Vinaigrettes are small decorative boxes that were used as a more accessible alternative method of carrying perfume, the perfume would be contained within these boxes socked in a sponge. Vinaigrettes were a fashionable indication of social ranking as perfume was an exotic extravagance.
